Exploring The Capital City of Thailand -- BANGKOK || 5 Days 5 Nights

This was my second time visiting Bangkok.
And the main purpose I back to here is to SHOPPING!
So we skipped all the destination to Wat, Grand Palace and Hua Hin which I had went to 3 years back, while we mainly visiting to mall and market.
Khao Yai was in our plan initially, but due to lack of time, we stick back to our plan to mainly focus in Bangkok city.

**Our Itinerary For 5 Days:**

Day 1 (Friday) : Siam Square Area
MBK (Mont Bread) --> Siam Discovery (Madame Tussauds Museum) --> Siam Center --> Siam Paragon --> Siam Square One (EVEANDBOY & LINE Village ) --> Artbox --> Chatuchak Night Market

Day 2 (Saturday) : Chatuchak Weekend Market

Day 3 (Sunday) : Platinum Fashion Mall --> Central World --> Big C Supermarket --> Siam Square One --> Asiatique

Day 4 (Monday) : Terminal 21 --> After You --> Chang Chui (Closed on Monday) --> Ratchada Night Market

Day 5 (Tuesday) : Silom Area --> Don Mueang Airport

Where we stay in BANGKOK?

Our accommodation for these days is The Mix Bangkok -- Silom, where we booked it from Agoda for about RM470, 5 nights for 4 pax.  So it is only RM120 for 5 nights.
The nearest BTS station to our place is Surasak Station, which required a walk of about 10 to 15 minutes. Well, the only day we used BTS was on the second day to Chatuchak. Others than that, we used Uber and Grab which cost cheaper than BTS (4 of us sharing the cost). You can register a new account with the THAI phone number and enjoy 3 rides with discount after applying promotion code. We had 4 phones here, so it was more than enough for us to enjoy the promo code.

We reached Bangkok on 12am in the midnight from Chiang Mai and straight away headed to our stay by Uber.

My advice:
Silom is not really a conveninet place to stay if you are first time in Bangkok. We booked our accommodation quite last minute, that is why most places (Budget hostel) was fully booked. So, The Mix Bangkok had become our only choice, which you can have private room with private bathroom.

You can actually try searching for places near Platinum to stay where most of the shopping areas are accessible by the sky bridge.

Airbnb is another good choice if you are travelling in group.

What to do in BANGKOK?

So I will give some advice based on the places I listed above.

MUST SHOP

1) Chatuchak Night Market
I knew most of you will think that Chatuchak market was only open on Saturday and Sunday, but you are wrong. We searched from google that the market will be open from 6pm to 12am, while my friend from Bangkok told us to reach there by 11pm as most of the hidden shop will open by this time until 2am in the midnight. It is more of a small Chatuchak, but the clothes selling are really really cheap!
I was like "What?! Only 50 baht for a top? 90 baht for a dress? BUY BUY BUY".

Yeah, it was indeed crazily cheap.  As I thought that I would find some of it back on the next day, I hold on for some items. But I was wrong (*sob sob)
Some stalls were only opened on Friday night so I had missed out some good deals.

2) Chatuchak Weekend Market
The largest market probably in Bangkok. From fashion to craft, foods and animals, you can find basically everything from here! Clothes are still very cheap here, normally range from 100 to 200 bahts for one. And my friend bought a denim jumpsuit here with just 80 bahts, which we all think that was the best deal of the day HAHA. The quality is pretty good, seriously don't know how they gonna earn from this price. Oh yeah, and sunglasses with just 39 bahts!

As my last visit to here was too rush, I had told myself that I HAVE TO visit to here again! So here was I. We went to the animal section where you can find almost all kinds of mammal animals here from doggie to cats, birds, fishes etc. Pug and husky are sooo cute! Animal lovers really have to pay a visit here. We spent almost half day here, from 12pm to 5pm.

(Reminder: Must put on your sunscreen and bring sunglasses and cap along. It can be pretty hot here. And drink enough water! )

Too tired shopping, so took a photo while resting

3) Terminal 21
This mall is first established by Year 2011 and the special things about it is the theme of different countries in the mall for every floor. Every escalator will show that you are departing from a country to the other such as Rome to Paris, Istanbul to Tokyo and London to San Francisco, and every floor will be decorated as in that particular country.

While we were strolling aimlessly around, a thought came into our mind, as we were thinking that if their washroom will be decorated as well or not. So we started to visit the washroom floor by floor HAHA. Well, we were surprised as their washroom even looked nicer than the outside! Even cleaners will wear costume according to the theme. And so we started taking photos in the washroom (Oh I knew this was funny but don't laugh)

No kidding, this is a view from washroom
So we ended up taking photo here

Every floor has different theme

4) Ratchada Night Market
We thought that it was closed on Monday, so we went to Chang Chui initially, but Chang Chui was closed as well! So do your homework before you go! Our Grab driver told us that Ratchada is open every day, so he drove us from Terminal 21 to Chang Chui and then to here Ratchada Night Market in the end.

As it was raining on that time and not all stalls were open & since it was our last night in Bangkok, we did not expect much from here but ended up we bought a lots again! Items sold here are cheap, YES! It was as cheap as in Chatuchak and we found some dresses and tops that we couldn't get from any places with just 140 bahts and 100 bahts respectively per piece. Pretty awesome. So, if you plan to shopping, save your money for Ratchada Night Market as well ;)

Beside that, variety of foods could be found from here. We had some pork satay as usual and tried Som Tam & salted fish. Som tam is way too nice so I bought an extra one with my friends before we leave.

5) Siam Square Area
The most prosperous area in Bangkok perhaps. From the luxury Siam Paragon to Siam Center, Siam Square One and MBK, you can shop all day here.
With the sky bridge, you can even access to Central World and Platinum Fashion Mall. It was indeed very convenient and prevent us from direct expose to sunlight.

While today, I am going to talk about Siam Square One, where you can find EVEANDBOY and LINE Village here. EVEANDBOY is the heaven for girls, you can get variety of beauty brands here, and price are reasonably cheap! A MUST MUST GO for girls! Well, I am more of a Korean fans for beauty products, but I also spent almost 700 bahts here because of persuasion from my friends.

LINE Village is another attraction for people to take a photo with BROWN the big bear. Now, you don't have to go to Korea but you can actually take a photo with BROWN in Bangkok.

Everywhere can be a photo place

6) Asiatique
Best to come here by evening time as you can watch the sunset while taking nice photo with the ferris wheel or Asiatique board. Besides that, you can also have your dinner here and have a leisure stroll around.

I finally found BKK Original and Vavoom shop here, selling purse and sling bag with very reasonable price.

MUST TRY

 AFTER YOU DESSERT
My first time here was 3 years ago, well I was not that impressed that time.
But since this is a must go in Bangkok, so I brought my friends here again. Suprisingly, the kakigori and toast tasted so nice today! No wonder every store was crowded by people and you have to queue up for number to be seated. Will definitely come back here again next time!
Or perhaps its branches will come into Malaysia very soon?
